The device captures images through a special camera connected to the glasses. Next, the images are transferred to the implant, which is installed in the visual cortex of the participants in the experiment. Thus, the built-in implant converts the images into a kind of light points that a person can see. This technology with the help of flashes of light allows people to understand what is happening around.
It is reported that the new device not only partially restored vision, but also made the blind more independent. So, one of the participants in the experiment again lives a full-fledged life: cooks, cleans, sorts laundry and other household items that previously caused difficulties or were completely inaccessible.
