Revealed the main design flaws of the updated Samsung Galaxy Fold

Samsung Galaxy Fold was introduced on April 26, but due to problems with the screen, the company did not dare to launch it officially. Now sales in South Korea have started and a few days ago the famous “killer” of smartphones from the YouTube channel “JerryRigEverything” tested its strength.

What showed

From the released video it can be seen that in addition to the Samsung Galaxy Fold, two protective glasses and wireless Galaxy Buds headphones are also supplied in the box with the smartphone. This is not counting a series of paper manuals, a cable for charging, a network adapter and a needle for removing a SIM card.

The presenter of the channel said that the process of folding and unfolding the smartphone is still quite smooth and Samsung as always is good in terms of software. The process of “bullying” a smartphone can be seen in this video:

In the test for scratch resistance, the external screen showed a fairly familiar result for a smartphone. The first scratches appeared when using a stick with a hardness level of 6 or more. On the other hand, the expandable large screen is covered with softer plastic, which can be scratched even with an ordinary fingernail, so the appropriate protective measures must be applied during daily use.

The hinge is an important part of this smartphone. In the reverse folding test, it withstood a fairly strong load. As it turned out, the loop design is very durable. But Jerry demonstrated that when sand enters the hinge, this mechanism will fail rapidly and this is a rather significant drawback.

The side frames of the smartphone and the speaker grille are made of metal and are quite reliably protected. Like the glass of all cameras – front and main.
