Hyundai Motor Group has created a dedicated Urban Air Mobility Division to develop flying cars. According to industry experts, the loading of public roads will soon become critical, and manufacturers are already starting to master the production of air transport. The development of unusual new products for Hyundai will be led by one of the former engineers of the NASA aerospace agency.
The new division will be engaged in the implementation of innovative projects related to solving the problems of road traffic around the world. Able to fly cars have long been a concept, but with the beginning of the development of turnkey solutions for drivers, there is a chance to see flying taxis in the next ten years.
The new division will be headed by Dr. Jayvon Sheen, an experienced engineer who led NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate. He oversaw numerous projects, including the development of supersonic aircraft in the X-Plane series, unmanned vehicle traffic control system and other projects.
The exact date of the announcement and the estimated price of new products are unknown.
