It seems that 2019 can be called the culmination of a policy of minimal improvements that their developers are pursuing. First, the NBA 2k20 was razed to the ground, and now it got FIFA 20 for nuts: the rating of the football simulator on Metacritic among console players now is a record low for the series of 1.2 points. On the PC, it was a shameful 0.3 points.
Basically, gamers complain about bugs, technical errors, microtransactions and, of course, the minimal differences between the new product and its predecessor. Out of 432 user ratings for the PlayStation 4, only 30 are positive and 11 are mixed – all the rest are the pure crystallized rage of the average gamer.
As you know, game journalists traditionally try to smooth out all possible angles as much as possible. At the same time, the cumulative average rating of 44 reviews was 79 points, which is 4 points lower than that of its predecessor – FIFA 19. For the first time in a dozen years, the game in the series received an estimate below 80 points – but once their rating was around 90 points.
The rating of FIFA’s main competitor, the Pro Evolution Soccer simulator, this year for the first time in a long time turned out to be higher. Of course, ordinary gamers did not neglect the opportunity to scold the game EA even in their praise of the creation of Konami.
